Art Class: Mask Making Workshop

October Art Class: Mask Making

With Halloween just around the corner, our theme for Art Class this month is Mask Making. Masks have served many purposes and have been used since antiquity. One can assume any identity, to disguise or to entertain, to perform rituals or to ward off evil spirits. We can learn a lot about the values, desires, and practices of a culture through their masks.

We will spend the first half of the class casting masks with plaster strips, and the second half painting and designing them. We will provide materials but feel free to bring a visual reference if you have something particular in mind.

Art Class will be held on Thursday, October 24th from 6-9pm and is $35 per person. All materials and refreshments included. Sign up via our email at
