Painting Class-Grandma Moses and Folk Art

Grandma Moses began painting in her seventies and went on to have a successful career as an artist. In this class we will look at her work and what it tells us about rural American life in her era. We will explore the subject of Folk Art and what it means to work in this way. "Folk art expresses cultural identity by conveying shared community values and aesthetics" we will look at this idea as we create our own works that reflect our own values and cultural identities.
